In a nutshell

Combining creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit to solve business and design challenges for over 20 years, I’ve enjoyed success both leading and executing design, user experience, strategy, business development, advertising and branding engagements within consulting, agency, and startup environments.

“Zach has been a valuable and reliable mentor, providing advice and guidance since I was a junior designer fresh out of college. He is hands on, patient and knows his stuff! He’s got what it takes to nurture talent into effective, process-oriented teams.”

Leading multi-disciplinary teams, I utilize UX methods (card-sorts, personas, journey maps, analytics, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, user testing) and visual design activities (competitive analysis, creative briefs, mood boards, workshops) to discover insights that will improve both user experience and business outcomes, while adhering to the best practices of various process methodologies including lean, agile, and design thinking.

Hallmarks of my process include building creative teams and culture, implementing and iterating repeatable processes, fostering individual and organizational growth, and developing efficient and creative workspaces that facilitate the creation of customer experiences that delight users and positively impact client and agency business development goals.

What else makes me, me?

A husband and father of 2 boys, I am an Eagle Scout who enjoys camping, hiking, and trail running. I’ve been training and competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 10 years, currently holding the rank of purple belt. On the other side of the brain, I have a deep passion for trading and investing in the stock market. While that may sound unusual for a “creative,” I’ve learned that in order to be a better trader, one needs to be a better person. Given my lifelong obsession with learning and personal development, this activity rounds me out well and is a major contributor to my career success.
